Etheridge Center is a Christian based program, designed to direct those who suffers from alcohol, drug abuse and mental health in the right direction. A family member was a member of the program for nine months but walked away. The program is very good for those who suffers from drug and alcohol abuse but lack skills when it comes to mental health issues. The program is run by blacks but treats all races fairly. Overall the program is a good program but need someone to address mental health issues which is not caused by drug abuse. I highly recommend the program but suggest more professionals to address the needs of individuals who has mental issues not caused by drug abuse. An individual can be damaged more if their needs aren't treated properly , especially when their purpose for living is taken away . A person needs a purpose. I applaud the work being done by the staff. It truly is a good program. Those who run the program understands drug and alcohol abuse, therefore they have what it takes to get individuals back on the right track. The individual who walked away had mental issues before becoming dependent on drugs and alcohol. Something happened to him while a little child caused him to have a fear of failure and very low self-esteem. Because of his mental issues he turned to drugs and alcohol. Thanks to the Ethridge Recovery Center for watching over him for nine months. Please read this with an opened mind.
