About

Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment facility that is located at 7850 Vista Hill Avenue in San Diego, California. Treating substance abuse involves multiple stages of treatment through a recovery program such as that offered by Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital. This can include group counseling, individual counseling, outpatient treatment, inpatient treatment, and medically assisted detox, among many others. Treatment programs are based on the individual themselves and are constructed to suit each patient individually. Just as every person is unique, so should treatment programs and that is exactly what patients will receive at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital.

If addicts do not obtain the right type of support and guidance, they may find treatment to be very difficult as the thought of sobriety can seem so far-fetched. At Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital, professional counseling and guidance are provided to all patients aged 18+, giving them the strength needed in order to obtain a life that is free of drug and alcohol addiction. By altering the patient's outlook on life through addiction treatment, they will be able to stay positive throughout the duration of rehab.

The staff members at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital have a mission and that is to give patients effective and quality addiction treatment so that long-lasting sobriety can be obtained. The path to a positive future starts on a positive foot and that begins at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital. Confronting addiction is a difficult thing to do, but it is the most important step in the recovery process. Through professional counseling during the patient's time in treatment, patients will learn coping skills and trigger management which is imperative to the success of maintaining sobriety.

Maintaining sobriety on one's own is extremely difficult, especially when the addict has tried to go 'cold turkey' on their own. This is because it requires medically-assisted detox in order to properly and safely wean the body off of the substance of abuse. This way the body does not go through sudden withdrawal nor experience harsh side effects. Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital can provide patients with all of the necessary tools, treatments, and resources so that patients have every opportunity to succeed in recovery.

Getting treatment is the best option when seeking a life that is free of substance abuse. Get the help required now and start living the best life possible. Contact Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital by visiting www.sharp.com/mesavista now.

The best of care, compassion, and support if you need help. The staff are some of the best people you'll ever meet, and helped me more than anyone ever has. The food is amazing and the facilities feel like a day spa. Hands down the best in San Diego.

Mesa Vista saved my life. I was there to detox from alchohol addiction. The staff was friendly, compassionate and professional. They went above and beyond battling my insurance provider and got me into the Sharp McDonald Center. This isn't a hotel, it's a hospital..If you're worried about how the blankets or beds feel, you need to start thinking about why you're there... Two months ago I celebrated five years of sobriety. If it weren't for Mesa Vista (and the McDonald Center) I wouldn't be alive to write this review. THANK YOU Mesa Vista!!!

5 star rehab facility. The food is so good you won't want to leave. The best staff, fun games, and you'll meet exciting new friends who help you smuggle in cigarettes.

I recently went to this place. In the inpatient program for adolescents. I must say a few things about this place. First of all the beds are terrible. The blankets are like towels. (My roommate and I stayed up all night the first night joking about it actually.) Second of all, the food (most of it anyway) is garbage. There were a few things on the menu that weren't bad though like the pizza and the sausage dog. So if you go here, always get those 2 things on the menu. But there are positives to this place as well. Most of the staff are very friendly and are there only to positively encourage you and get you the proper help. But if only they improved on the living quarters...

This is the place to go if you are suicidal, addicted, and just need help. Gotta have health insurance though. The meetings are legit and anyone can attend AA, NA, for recovery.

I have been to Sharp Mesa Vista inpatient and outpatient programs and it is the best treatment I've received. You have to be you're own advocate and tell them what you need but once they know they help you. They treat you like an individual and respect your decision to either take medication or not. They explained to me the options I had and didn't bother me that I chose to not take any prescriptions which I appreciated. I'm in cognitive group there outpatient now and it took two weeks to get used to it. They've helped me a lot. My therapist has found resources for me and my psychiatrist has helped with documents that I need for my medical leave claim. A psychiatric hospital is not exactly where anyone wants to be but sometimes you need it. It is hard to adjust and hard to be around others who have more extreme symptoms than you do but it's worth it. If you're reading this I hope you know that wherever you decide to seek treatment just know it's okay to ask for help. No one's judging you as much as you judge yourself and I hope you get through this. It's difficult to be in a position in life where you're considering mental health treatment but it means you're willing to heal and that's awesome.

Sharp Mesa Vista gas always treated me well, I have been in and out since I was 16. From the adolescent unit (CAP 3) to the adult units that I have been in (EW1, EW2, SR) this hospital has saved me numerous times. I am diagnosed Borderline Personality Disorder and the staff treated me with respect and kindness (BPD has a lot of stigma) My last stint there, I did ECT with Dr. Fidaleo and never in my life have I felt this good. Dr. Fidaleo is an amazing psychiatrist who you can tell really cares. I've had other psychiatrist there who were equally as good, such as Dr. Jafar. The food is good, rooms are very nice. The nursing staff are amazing. Especially on East Wing 2, the open unit. Stephanie, an evening nurse is one of the most amazing people I've ever met. Also, Richard, the mental health associate was like a father figure to me while I was there (I am usually the youngest patient in the adult units, I am now 20) Thank you Mesa Vista for everything you have done for me.

My mother was recently released from the behavioral unit for seniors. She has multiple issues including anxiety, depression, early stages of dementia and an addiction to pain medicine. Dr. Khalafian is an exceptional psychiatrist! He is kind compassionate and very sensitive to the patient's needs yet he also understands the pharmacological agents that are necessary to bring the chemistry of the brain back into a more balanced approach. He called me at least twice to inform me on my mother's condition and prognosis. He listened to my concerns as her son. He and the nursing staff were well on top of most of the issues that my mother faced, both physical and mental. They were very attentive to her needs and yet realistic to what they could achieve as goals. Also, my mother's social worker Tracy was a very efficient at setting up the necessary discharge contacts to ensure that my mother would receive further treatment. The issues of mental health are complex and difficult at times but Sharp Mesa Vista has done an exceptional job and continues to have a deep sense of commitment to its patients. My only concern is the limited number of beds available at a given time for such a large and growing need in our community.
